Trevor

Janica flipped her laptop open and placed it on the farmhouse table beside her kitchenette. She took a seat at the table and began swirling her index finger around on the trackpad as she pulled up her gmail account. This was the only place that she had been receiving messages from Trevor who had started communicating with her there in google chats. Their relationship was estranged, and he had also contacted her on venmo and ebay. There was no reason for this other than that he was allusive.

“Meet me tonight at the marina” Trevor chatted. She placed her finger on her lower lip and rubbed the salted caramel lip gloss in, and she looked off to the left and debated meeting Trevor. She didn’t believe in free will in all honesty so what choice did she have.

Janica had known Trevor from Sunday School since she was 7. She always liked Rylie more and did briefly believe in God when she was chosen to paint Rylie’s face. They even went on a ski trip together all the way back then, but she was upstaged by a different girl with a better snowsuit. Trevor was never aware of Janica back in Sunday school, they wouldn’t connect until freshman year of college.

Janica smelled like patchouli and had a gorgeous afro of golden-brown curls. Her dark skin glowed and was soft and supple. Now as she sat at the table, she was wearing a hot pink tube top and pajama pants with yellow ducks on them. Tunes floated out of her speaker that was bumping one of her favorites, DJ noise.
