Delaneyโs sketchbook fell out of her Burberry coated canvas bag. She searched frantically for her cellphone trying to not miss a moment of gazing at Graham Whitney. As she pulled her hand out of the bag the edge of the โMCRโ pin she had fastened to the corner of the shoulder strap scraped her wrist sending a trail of crimson red drops down her arm
She prompted the phone to turn on and checked to see if Zach had messaged her. It had been weeks since they talked, but she was still anticipating him. Furious with pain Delaney took the โMCRโ pin off the strap and resolved to throw it in the trash. My Chemical Romance was Spencerโs favorite band, before it was Delaneyโs favorite band that Delaney had discovered, before she ever met Spencer. Oddly, neither of them even knew that the other listened to the band.
She had the opportunity to messaged Zach or Spencer now, especially on the edge of an urge that was claiming her free will, but instead she put her phone back in her bag and pulled out a deck of tarot cards. She was searing for the one that had the image she was going to use as her inspiration for her Graham Whitney Centerpiece.
Little did she know she had been spared the fright of her life โ Spencer barging into her class unannounced – because he was now on floor โ4โ entertaining a cute blonde, Sarah Ballard. Delany couldnโt handle his unexpected appearances; she was always on the verge of a heart attack with him haunting her mind that was already enough.
Spencer was unstable, erratic, and dangerous. He was deeply emotional and endearing but his constant unpredictability caused him to be a scary and creepy to Delaney. There was a constant struggle for trust and understanding that seemed to just be barely reached before some other explosive climatic disagreement.
With him, it was truly 1 step forward 2 steps back.
